Off to the honeymoon? Don't forget to pack!

Now that the wedding madness is through and you are officially a “Mrs.” it’s time to pack for your well-deserved post-wedding reward – your honeymoon! There’s no need to pack like a diva in order to look like one. You only need a handful of honeymoon essentials to ensure you’re prepared for the fun nights, relaxing days, and any unfortunate mishaps that may occur during your honeymoon. It can be easy to forget the necessities when you’re basking in the glory of newlywed bliss, but tossing a few extra ingredients into your suitcase can make a world of a difference.

Honeymoon Wardrobe

Shoes: If you plan on doing lots of shopping, walking or hiking, be sure to pack a pair of light sneakers that will allow you to be active and comfortable. If your honeymoon location is a beach destination, be sure to pack sandals. And of course, for those glamorous nights of dancing and dining, pack your favorite pair of heels.

Dresses: Pack a little black dress that can be worn to dinner or a nightclub, as well as a casual dress that can be worn to brunch, a shopping spree, or a romantic starlit walk.

Tops: Pack a t-shirt, tank top, a dressy shirt, and a cardigan. Packing these essentials will help you create many outfits from just a few key pieces. The cardigan will be the staple of your honeymoon wardrobe as it can be worn both over dresses and shirts to jazz up an outfit.

Bags: A versatile tote bag can get you through afternoons of shopping, sunbathing and relaxing. Pack a tote that can transport all of your beach goodies as well as be a staple to your everyday outfits. Be sure to also pack your favorite clutch, as it will instantly give any outfit a glamorous appeal.

Bottoms: Packing a pair of jeans is essential to your honeymoon wardrobe. Wear jeans with a dressy shirt and a cardigan for a preppy look or pair them with a white tank top for a timeless All American Girl look. Also, create more room in your suitcase by wearing your jeans on your flight to your honeymoon destination.

Swimsuits: Pack a minimum of two swimsuits and a cover-up so you can spend every day at the beach without having to wait for your swimsuit to be washed and dried.

Intimates: It’s your honeymoon – packing at least one sexy piece of lingerie is a must. And of course, pack plenty of extra socks and underwear, as they have a tendency to go missing while traveling.

Feminine Care: You may not be expecting Mother Nature to crash your honeymoon, but if she does, make sure that you’re prepared by packing everything you can’t buy at your destination.

Essentials

Travel: Bring your passport, airline ticket, identification, credit cards, cash, traveler’s checks, visas, emergency numbers and hotel reservation information. It’s necessary to ensure that your ID matches the name on the reservation. Therefore, if you have changed your last name, the name on your ID should reflect the change.

Personal Care: Toothbrushes and toothpaste are a given. But, you may also want to pack hairstyling products, makeup, pain reliever, razor and shaving cream. Keep in mind that according to the TSA, all of the above items must be in a checked bag.

It may be your honeymoon, but if traveling to a foreign country, it’s necessary to be prepared in the case of an emergency. By packing all of the above mentioned items, as well as extras that apply to your specific needs, you’ll ensure that your honeymoon is as memorable, relaxing and stress-free as possible!
